We all remember the infamous beef that spiraled out of control between rapper Nick Minaj and Hot 97 morning radio host Peter Rosenberg last year during the 2012 Summer Jam concert. Well, the two finally came face to face with one another earlier today to settle the beef once and for all. Peter Rosenberg was cautious as he explained his reasoning for his summer jam rant against the Pink Friday rapper.

Rosenberg said that his dislike for Nicki Minaj’s seven time platinum hit record “Starships” was not a personal jab yet a “critique” of Nick’s choice of music given her grassroots and rise to stardom as a hip hop mcee. Nicki Minaj quickly buried the hatchet saying “It’s cool. Its Water Under The Bridge, It’s so Long Ago.. I Can’t Even Act Like I Care“.  However, Minaj didn’t let Rosenberg completely off the hook as she took a personal jab at Rosenberg’s resume [citing that Rosenberg did not have enough substance to even issue such a criticism]. The conversation diverted in to other great topics  [which you can read below]  but Rosenberg later noted that he had acquired sixteen years of media experience.

On Why She Doesn’t Credit Other Females As Much:

“Rapping helps me stay on my ground I’m very competitive when it comes to wordplay. My writing, My flow. It’s very hard for me to give people props [especially females] I kind of feel like alot of girls come in the game and feel like: I’m going to put some words together and make them rhyme.”

On Her Rap Skills & Use of Multiple-Personalities In Her Records:

“And I’ve studied for so many years. How to make my flow sound to the point where it feels like your watching art…. That’s what I started doing all those crazy voices [which I don’t want to do anymore] because I just wanted to play with my craft. That’s why Monster became such a big deal. It was like different personalities – like who has the balls to do that. Everybody was afraid to be fun, be playful, be a character – I studied acting – this is what I do.”

“So I get it. When people saw me on the underground circuit, they saw me as bam-boo earrings, pink hair and people felt like – ok that’s her – and then when they see other sides of me – they say – that’s not me. I’m multifaceted….My favorite actor is Meryl Streep – that should tell you something.

On Returning To Her Rap Essence On New Album:

“I don’t limit what I like, but I agree that Nicki Minaj should focus on rap NOW. But- I wouldn’t have done it differently. Because that [Her Pop Tracks]  got me to American Idol and my current movie role with director Nick Cassavetes [who saw me on Idol].”

On Being A Diva and Untrusting Of Men: :

“I handle my business, If I was not like this – so maybe people would have taken advantage me. What people don’t understand realize is that before _ I took when I was doing I took ALOT of SHIT from people – from men who didn’t want me to realize my own worth, who didn’t want me to know the truth about who I was and how good I was. I had people who wanted to speak with labels that wanted to sign me and didn’t tell me. I just dealt with Alot of stuff from guys. Plus – my father was so CRAZY with his alcohol and drug abuse. So I always felt like I am never going to let anyone [a man] hold me down or make me feel small….I think that sometimes that [mindset] transfers over to your career as a woman and there’s a chip on your shoulder because [in this business] you experience head strong men …. and I experience my mom not speaking up as much as I wanted her to. I remember feeling like; Why won’t she say something!”

On Her Recent Controversy With A Entertainment Reporter:

“They make such as big deal when a woman stands up for herself. I see people walk on EGGSHELLS around Lil Wayne and I’m pretty sure the same for Jay-Z and Eminem and all these men. I walked out of and interview because I was feeling positive and happy and this lady wanted to bring up controversy and I just don’t want to deal with NEGATIVE anymore… so I walked away, and I’m entitled to walk away. But if you walk away – they say oh she’s a DIVA. So I should stand there and curse the lady out. “
