Inside the mag [which is on stands now] Lupita reveals her insecurities as a dark-skin girl and how the images in MEDIA impacted her confidence. The actress who was born in Mexico and raised Kenya says
“Beauty is what I saw on television…. Light skin and long, flowing, straight hair, she says. Subconsciously, you start to appreciate those things more than what you possess.
Lupita dyed her hair from every color

I applaud PEOPLE magazine for this not because they finally put a dark-skin woman on the cover their magazine but taking notice [to voice of the people] that beauty is truly DIVERSIFIED in more ways than the image of a face and body therefore should be recognized as such.
