Jason Derulo switched musical gears with his new single “Talk Dirty” feat. rapper, 2 chainz. The florida native is known for his top charting ‘pop‘ music hit songs like As you may know the singer has been a longstanding relationship with singer Jordan Sparks. .
As Jason explains, music is diverse however most pop music that we here today does have a blend of urban flavor [ie Katy Perry “Dark Horse”, Justin Timberlake -new album, Miley Cyrus] and in his eyes should no longer be seen as such. Jason has written for Cash Money Records, Diddy and plenty more.
Jason talked about why he chose to add featured artists on the new album. The new album features, Snoop Dogg, Tyga, 2 Chainz, and more. During his interview with New York’s The Breakfast Club show Jason says
” After you reach a certain point you got to realize that you rule your career and you manage what’s popular in music. If today I decide to go urban; it doesn’t mean that its not going to make it on the pop charts. This week ‘Talk Dirty’ is number one on the pop charts. “
” If its good music it should be played everywhere. For me making this music; it was to let everyone know who Jason Derulo is I think pop music is changing too; it has more of an urban swag too. “
