On Friday, a video surfaced on the web showing black and white images of a packed concert stage arena with concert-goers “throwing up the ‘Roc’ sign and Jay-Z “H.A.M.” song playing in the background. While many people [including me], thought it was a video teaser for one of Jay-Z new song, there was no word from the Rocnation camp therefore the ‘guessing game’ was played all throughout the weekend. Some people even speculated that Jiggaman was running for political office and was soon to make an announcement.
Well, the wait is officially over. Jay-Z has announced that he will host the Made In America Music Festival in Philadephia. The concert [which is sponsored by Budweiser & Co.] will take place around Labor Day Weekend. Jay-Z will be headlining the event, however the music mogul has announced that there will be 28 acts [from different music genres] will take to the stage for the two-day concert series.
The concert will be held at Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park. Jay-Z is also rumored to perform with his Rocafella label-mate and friend rapper ‘Freeway’.
Sidebar: Jay-X and Beenie Seagel has put aside their difference and mended fences. Hopefully, a reunion between these two will surface on stage as well. I don’t know about you all, but I miss the rocafella camp, and not mention, but they had great music. I also think rapper ‘Eve’ should make the lineup as well. After-all she is a Philly native, she’s returning to music, and she’s soon to drop her new single “Mama In The Kitchen” [which is produced by Jay-Z friend and socialite Swizz Beatz].
Anywho, tickets for the show will be made available on May 23rd via Live Nation. Jay-Z and Bey is clearly dominating the east coast. Bey is taken over Atalntic City for Memorial Weekend and Jay-Z will be taking over Philadelphia Labor Day Weekend. I guess the carters will just have a private BBQ on July 4th instead.
