Koffee Wins 1st Grammy Award For “Best New Reggae Album”

” Blessings Fall In My Right Hand ”

Jamaica’s hot new talent ‘Koffee’ won her first grammy nod for her 2019 ‘Rapture Ep‘ debut. The 19-year old made huge waves with her smash single ‘Toast’ that boasted the success of the industry new-comer.

In the words of Koffee, the recent win is for ‘reggae music’ and all of the influential musicians that inspired her to pursue her craft.

Born Makayla Simpson to a single mother, Koffee’s musical craft was groomed from her role in the church choir she attended with her mother and became a self-taught guitarist by the age of 12.

Shortly thereafter, Koffee expanded her musical gift in songwriting and the rest is history. Her single ‘toast’ was an instant hit following its initial release back in 2018 and one year later the high school grad was signed to Columbia records .

Fresh her international tour as the opening act for reggae mega star ‘Chronixx’, Koffee is set to debut her 1st album by the third quarter of this year and we’re here for it.
