Yesterday, [April 21] we learned that pop icon singer, songwriter, PRINCE Roger Nelson, 57 died in his home in Paisley Park , Minnesota. Prince was found unresponsive in his elevator shaft, and reportedly died at 10.07 am after EMS desperately tried to revive him.
Prince publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure confirmed his death but the cause of his death is still unknown. An autopsy was conducted at the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Ramsey, Minnesota, but the results won’t be concluded for a few weeks. However, speculation surrounding Prince’s death have also come into question.
On April 15th, Prince plane issued an immediate landing due to a medical emergency. The singer reportedly was suffering from the flu and rumor has it that that he may have overdosed on ‘percocet’ just days before his untimely death.
However, Prince made a surprising visit to fans at the Paisley Park dance party on Saturday [April 16th] where he assured fans that his health was not in grave danger as the news had reported. ” The Next Time You Hear Some News, Give It A Few Days Before You Waste Your Prayers “ – said Prince. The singer also showed off his new guitar but informed the crowd that he could hardly play the ‘guitar’ these days but he would return once he got better.
Authorities have announced today that it was staff from the Paisley Park that went to check on the star around 9:38am after he did not show up for a scheduled meeting. Prince was the only resident found in the home, and Prince had no signs of physical ‘trauma’.

Prince sold 100 million records worldwide, released 39 albums, held five number one-singles, won 7 out of 30 Grammy nominations, and won an Oscar for his classic biopic film ‘Purple Rain’ in 2004. I can recall where I was, and how moved I was watching the ‘Purple Rain’ debut and Prince issued that emotional tribute to his father alongside Shelia E and band in the closing performance. Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and released his last album on September of 2015.
