 A Delighted Holiday Surprise!

Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole dropped freestyle tracks entitled ‘Black Friday’ on [Nov. 27th], and from the lyrics, we gather that there just be a duo-collaborative album /mixtape from the two emcees in the coming months.

Kendrick raps over J. Cole.  ‘A Tale Of Two Cities’  track,  and J Cole’s rap over Kendrick’s  ‘Alright’ track and while the two dropped separate songs, both tracks were credited as TDE [Top Daw Entertainment] and Dreamville productions, so there’s is some truth to the rumors at large.  I think this was a genius marketing strategy from the two to not only tease the fans, but also to give a salute to the true essence of  Hip Hop. No catchy hooks –  just straight bars.

Kendrick made quite a few references in this track about the ‘forgery in the industry’, Kanye For President, Being David Blaine, and responding to Billboard’s top 10 best rappers list. J. Cole re-affirms that he is the ‘Sixth-God’, and needs no lean, methanol, or ghost writing to tackle his demons.  I don’t think there needs to be a comparison of  ‘who rapped better’, because Kendrick and Cole delivered great lyrics here.

Kendrick was relentless on this track.

My Lineage Proves Its Itself/
I’m Rolling Deeper Than Paper Like Two Adeles/
Before Scholars, I Flow Tighter Than Virgin Lips/
We Here To Shake The Game Up/
And You Flying Through Turbulence /
Everything Is High Stakes Nowadays/
It’s Seven Figures, And Retainer For A Case Nowadays/

Since Eddie Bauer, Since Stash Boxes, And Lead Showers/
Breaking The Pad Lock, And The Dead Coward/
Dying A Thousand Deaths, Entire Lions Surrounded Its Self With Bears/
Watch It N—-a, You Sharing Profit, Ah/

J.Cole was unrelenting as well.

Whats’ The Plan/
Cole Keeps Snapping Like Mustard Jam/
Got A Middle Finger For Uncle Sam/
I Done Paid So Much Taxes, I Can Fund Japan/
But Instead They Make A Young N—a Fund The Man/
Same Man That Keep A Young N—a Under, Damn/
I Just Cocked Back N—a, And My Gun Don’t Jam/
On A Scale From One To Ten, I’m A Hundred Grand/
