Will Smith plays Dr. Bennet Omalu in the new controversial film ‘Concussion’. The film centers around Omalu’s shocking discovery of football-related brain trauma and his struggle in getting NFL executives to acknowledge his discovery and meeting with the press.
In the film, Alec Baldwin stars alongside Smith as Dr. Julian Bailes. Bailes and Omalu work together and try to convince the NFL about the link between football injuries and chronic encephalopathy.
Dr. Bennet Omalu was recently honored in New York City at the WebMD Health Hero Awards and spoke with the Hollywood Reporter where and says that the NFL should not be concerned about the movie.
