Each year, New York Fashion Week brings you the hottest designs and color trends for the fall season as well an introduction to some of the hottest rising fashion designers. This year, Angela Simmons launched her latest design with the Harlem Globetrotters in celebration of their 90th Anniversary collection at Kia’s 360 Style studios.
Angela Simmons is no new comer to the fashion industry. The 28-year old has evolved into a true business woman over the past decade; starting as a contributing editor for ‘Word Up’ magazine, to launching her ‘Pastry Footwear’ in 2007 with her sister Vanessa Simmons to implementing designs for ‘Run Athletics’ and launching her very own clothing line ‘Angela’ By Angela Simmonsin 2013, Simmons is proving that she has what it takes to roll with the fashion heavyweights.
Harlem Globetrotters need no introduction; they’ve been around for well over twenty years providing what many would call entertaining sports for basketball audiences worldwide. The Globetrotters use incredible coordination and skillful handling of one or more basketballs, such as passing or juggling balls between players, balancing or spinning balls on their fingertips, and making unusual, difficult shots. Thanks to the help of Angela Simmons, their new fashion statement provides audiences with a more fresh, hip, and sporty look on and off the court.
From our front row view we caught wind of a few celebrities that came out to support the event. Attendees included Simmons family, a few vh1 and bravo reality stars Ceaser and Dutchess [Black Ink Crew] Rhoa stars, Claudia Jordan and Demetria Mckinney, rapper, Maino, beyonce’s stylist, Ty Hunter, singer Justine Skye, Bridget Kelly and Mack Wilds who took the runway to perform their new single ‘Act Like That’, .
