This Is Why Love Rocks!

The 2015 Black Girl Rock Awards [which is set to air on BET April 5th] took place over the weekend and all notable female celebrities were in attendance including FLOTUS, Michelle Obama. Rarely do we see men at this ceremony, but this year was quite special for one woman who received honorary for her continued good deeds in the entertainment industry and her role in female empowerment.

Yes, I’m talking about Jada Pinkett Smith. Husband, Will Smith had the pleasure of being one of the very few males in an arena full of women to present his wife with an award, but its what took place when the two made body contact on stage along with Jada’s empowering speech that has everyone talking.

Will and Jada display of affection wowed the audience. First their was the close pull in hug, then the smooched kiss, not once, but twice, along with the light hand touch on Jada’s derriere.  I swear I got my entire life after watching their exchange. We’re talking 15 years of marriage here, and the love is clearly not lost.

I’d be lying if I say I am a frequent PDA person, but I do engage [when necessary] and I’m a firm believer that when it’s done with your significant other, it should always be genuine, passionate, with love and affection.

Moving along, Jada issued an empowering message to the audience of women  along with a salute to FLOTUS. Here’s an excerpt of the speech.

” We are the women that marched from cotton fields into fields of Medicine, Politics, Law,  Education, Entertainment, we even found our way to march ourselves into the White House as the the First Lady Of The United States of America.”

FLOTUS, echoed similar sentiments in her speech when discussing her lack of self-confidence growing up.

” I know there are voices that you are not good enough. Each of those doubts was like a test that I either shrink away from or rise to me. And I decided to rise – Michelle Obama. ”

A Tweet, A Tweet, That’s All PLUM’s!
