One of America’s iconic tv figure, legacy and image is headed to the WALL OF SHAME.
Earlier this month Bill Cosby came under fire AGAIN over rape allegations. More fuel was added to the fire this week after the Washington Post issued a publication on Thursday [Nov.13th] from one Cosby’s alleged accusers, Barbara Bowman who too claims that Cosby sexually assaulted her multiple times since the age of 17.
Cosby has yet to release a statement in response to rape allegations. In a recent interview with Scott Simon on NPR’s Weekend Edition, Saturday [Nov.15] Simon tried to break Cosby Silence saying: ” There are people who love you who might like to hear from you about this. I want to give you the chance.” Cosby simply shook his head.
To make matters worst Bill Cosby took to twitter and instructed the public to go ahead and meme him along with he hashtag #billscosbymeme. and boy did the meme’s follow.
Cosby has reportedly been accused by more than six women within the span of two decades. Now, the statute of limitations may have run out for these women to press charges but that it’s not preventing a few of these women from speaking out lately. Cosby has not been accused of any crimes, however he did settle a civil suit with one accuser back in 2006 .
As a result, Cosby has had two cancelled appearances on the Queen Latifah show and the David Letterman show. Bill and his wife, Camille were promoting the opening of Conversations: African and African -Amercian Artworks In Dialogue; a wonderful initiative to educate people of color no their grass roots heritage. I’ve seen this story replay in Hollywood all too often. I’ve learned not to choose a side just because of color, nor side believe the reports of media. People can bought, People can be reformed, Politics are always in play, and Legacies can be created and tarnished by a ruling group.
The most alarming question for me is , Why is the public learning of this now? It was mentioned that when a few of the accusers had come forward and requested legal action against Cosby, they were booted out of law offices and told that Cosby was ‘too powerful’ to go up against. So why now? Now that he is of senior age, does that make him ‘less powerful’. Bill Cosby refusal to speak is also questionable and from the looks of it he might want to issue an open letter of response quickly.
