Chris Brown recently interviewed with Billboard Magazine where he discussed his new album ‘X’ [dropping Sept 13th] along with his fascination with paint drawings, his fashion style, and what he’d like his legacy to be.
On The Concept Of His Paint Drawings:
” For me, its all about the Vibe. Just always bright colors and the cans I had to work with it, I just had fun with it. I always make these weird faces, and weird characters but I just wanted it to come together and bring some ‘light’ to the paint. ”
” I’ve been just worried about painting on walls instead of painting on myself because I’m running out of room. I think probably in a couple of months or weeks, I might get some new stuff, I want to really go artistic and get more portrait kind of styles of fashion as far as my tattoo’s and ink, so I’m still figuring it out. “
On The New Album:
” For this album, I want the fans to see the growth, coming of age, becoming a man but also to still be move and influence the culture. With this album, I want t project that and see people see what I can bring to the table as far as an artist and entertainer. I want to always have song and hopefully my God -Given talent will always show that’s it. “
On His Fashion Style:
” There’s so many other designers, I don’t really choose or pic a certain one. I us blend them all together. I just thrown throw on a dress jacket on, then throw on some sweats with it. I just try to be different but not weird because I don’t want people to be like ‘what the heck he has on’ but essentially it’s just my sense of style. “
Chris also went on to talk about the public perception of his bad boy persona and what he’d like his legacy to be a reflection of.
” I realize that what I do for a living opens my life to public scrutiny and that I have a responsibility to everyone because of that exposure.
I can say that I am only human and I have made mistakes. I can say that I try to live my life in the most true, honest way that I can . I am not perfect, no one is. No one is harder on me than me. No one can please everyone. No one can live in the past and expect to grow. I have been moving forward and hope that I am not defined by just a few moments in my life but all of the moments that will make up make life. ”
