Whose out of line here?
Comedian and tv host Joan Rivers was not pleased with the line of questioning during her interview with CNN correspondent Fredericka Whitfield. Rivers appeared on the news network to promote her new book ‘ Diary Of A Mad DIVA ‘
In Rivers new book, River poke fun at many of the top celebrities [deceased and ALIVE] [similar to her commentary on her VH1 hit show Fashion Police] and Whitfield questioned whether Rivers ever felt that her jokes were ‘out of line’ and or ‘too offensive’.
Whitfield acknowledge Rivers success over the years and her fashion critiques and then she uttered… although most of them are “MEAN”. Rivers responded:
” It’s not MEAN. I tell the truth, and I’m sure I say the same thing that all your viewers say to their friends sitting next to them on the couch. We’re one of the few shows that says “That’s an UGLY dress”. These girls make 28 million dollars in picture. You think Nicki Minaj cares when I’m talking about her dress.. You really don’t care when your in that kind of bracket. “
Whitfield also questioned Rivers on wearing fur on the cover of her book, as well as some of the jokes listed in the book where Rivers take aim at Princess Diana and Anthony Casey.
” Life is very be tough and if you can make a joke, you make it easier and funny to it says Rivers. “
But the interview went south after Whitfield questioned Rivers fur cover photo for her new book. Rivers felt that Whitfield had crossed the line of ‘negative questioning’ and she walked off the interview after letting her lips loose. Take a listen below:
Earlier this week, Rivers received called President Obama ‘Gay’ and the First Lady ‘a tranny’ [which was said to be in part of a joke]. Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black if you ask me. I must say I’m surprised Rivers did not remain seated for the interview.
