Cyber Bulllying Vs. Public Opinion?

Blue Ivy is always at the center of media attention when she’s out in public with her parents Beyonce and Jay-Z, but it is her HAIR that is constantly under a microscope for ALL to judge.

MANY people are outraged at Blue Ivy’s hair [or should we say her hair’s upkeep],  and her latest appearance this week caused an all-out uproar resulting in a petition which was formed with a very clear message “Comb Her Hair”

The comments have been VICIOUSAre we forgetting that this is a child we’re talking about?  Now celebrities are well aware of the public scrutiny that comes with their fame but usually children are off limits.

In the petition, some people are pointing the fingers at Bey and Jay-Z citing that with all the money they have, Blue Ivy’s hair should often be tamed [just like Bey’s hair was when she was young].

Other people are suggesting that the public petition is a form of cyber-bullying and calling Bey and Jay bad parents because of  Blue Ivy’s hair which they’re deeming inappropriate.

Thus far, the petition has spawned over 2,000 views and counting.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that Blue Ivy may not want or like her hair comb on a daily basis. I stand in the middle on this one. It’s one thing to gave an opinion but to start and public petition based solely on your bad judgement of someone is completely WRONG!

The suggestion in the petition says that blue’s hair appeared to be natted [like dreadlocs] along with lint balls in them. Ok- so she had a bad hair day and like most hair that is natted, twisted or locked together they usually snag onto cotton, wool, and thick fabrics.

Now, I will admit that because one’s hair is natural that does not exclude them from proper hair care, moisture and great styling.  From a person who transitioned from dreadlocks to free-natural hair I’ve learned ALOT about the importance of hair care and ultimately some of the neglect that I’d given my hair in my formative years.

Thanks to these good products I’ve become more educated and hopefully Bey and Jay will do the same. Below is a few basic supplies that will calm down the masses.

Actress, Nicole Arie Parker talked about transitioning to natural hair and offered up suggestions for protective styling which she wore  courtesy of KhamitKinks during her interview on the Wendy Williams show this week.

In this case, Blue Ivy’s hair may not often be in the best presentation when out in public but let’s keep in mind that she is just two years old that this is just a small phaze [of her hair growth] which shall pass.

Furthermore, If It Doesn’t Apply, Let It Fly!  Her parents don’t seem to have a problem, so whether you like her hair or not, your opinion means little because [if you haven’t notice] –  the Carters do what they want.
