Last week TLC found themselves in a twitter war with pop singer, Rihanna after an interview leaked onto the web of TLC issuing out what appears to be a PSA warning to Rihanna [allegedly] saying ” Everytime We See You, You Don’t Have To Be Naked”.
Of course the statement didn’t go over well with Rihanna and she fired back with a bunch of shady tweets and PSA’s of her own [which were FAR from friendly].
The beef stew between the two stirred much conversation across the media waves and now TLC is speaking out and claiming to have been misreported by the Australian interviewer.
” This whole conversation had nothing to do with her anyway – says T-Boz. It wasn’t about her at all, whatsoever….. If we have a problem with an artist or an artist has a problem with us come to us directly.. Talk to us, don’t start a Twitter war… that’s silly. They were talking about women feeling pressured to sell sex in the industry and the conversation was ultimately chopped and screwed with Rihanna’s image to get a good story. “
” Someone asked a question have we seen Rihanna’s outfit and I said no, because we’re over here touring and I didn’t know there’s an award show and I had no clue what she wore. We never mentioned any artist’s name. They even took my comment ‘a spade is a spade’ out of context … I was talking about television shows.”
Sidebar: TLC was better off talking to bloggers. This is probably the upteenth time an overseas reporter has chopped and screwed an interview for popularity ratings
T-Boz and Chilli also responded to Rihanna’s fireback photo of the group topless in a former photo spread.
” Anytime we do something like that, there’s a reason behind it [explaining that the topless photo was done for a breast cancer awareness photoshoot].
” The unfortunate part is we were giving a positive message to little girls. “When we’re talking about people not wearing clothes or being naked all the time or whatever that’s a whole lost of people and I said if that’s their thing, and they feel comfortable doing that, then whatever that works for them. But you don’t have to go that route if you don’t want – says T-Boz. And we don’t want people to think that’s what you have to do –says Chilli. ”
The result – RiRi has since deleted her tweets and bad remarks.
