We just love Jhene Aiko. I must say Jhene Aiko EP  “Sail Out” is the best appetizer for what’s to come on her upcoming solo debut album Souled Out“. Jhene Aiko has come a long way in the industry. The singer/songwriter has been constant with her music, vocals, and live performances, and is now ready to take her rightful place in this industry.

But Jhene doesn’t want any handouts. As Jhene explains in her latest interview with ‘GQ‘ magazine

” If a man has a chef and maid, then I can’t practice my domestic powers.  Mostly, I just don’t want a guy who would waste money… I probably smoke week twice a week and have no problem sleeping for ten hours.”

Talk about a beautiful mix. Jhene’s mother is Japanese, Spanish, Dominican, Native American and French and her dad is African American. As for the new album Jhene is taking no prisoners. The 26-year old singer says:

“There’s no f–king around with this album.”

On tracks like ‘The Worst‘, and ‘Bed Peace‘, and ‘Stay Ready‘  Jhene  is self assured and ready for battle. From heartaches to heartbreaks Jhene Aiko says she challenging her male counterparts on the subject of love on her new album. Are You Ready? Because, We Are.
