To all my lady PLUM’s that love switching up their hairdo while cutting the cost low –Pink &Pretty hair is your ultimate go to. Owner and founder, Yuslendy Suriel sought out her dream goal two years ago, when she decided to embark into the hair industry after losing her aunt to breast cancer, Yuslendy used five hundred dollars [of her personal savings] and flew to Los Angeles to purchase a few bundles of hair at wholesale value and return to the states shortly after. Although her inventory was small, Yuslendy sought out to make a big impact. The 24 year-old reached out to peers of her community and tested the hair [which is completely organic] and the evolution of Pink & Pretty Hair had begun.
As Yulsendy explains her hairline:
Our line is Pink Royalty. Each hair collected is by provided by one single donor. The cuticles are intact and run in the same direction. Our hair lasts up to one year or longer with proper care.
I had the pleasure of attending Pink &Pretty Hair “Festivity Of Beauty” event which was held at the Field & Bar Restaurant in Connecticut a few weeks ago. The private invite-only was nothing short of STUNNING! Hosted by former Jersey Shore star, Angelina Pavernick, and PR, Sheanna Taylor the breast cancer awareness networking event brought out many women from New Jersey, Connecticut, and the five boroughs of New York City.
Attendees got a chance to shop, and indulge in a variety of beauty stations which included wine and liquor infused cupcake treats by the Cupcake Bartender, Pink&Pretty hair samples of [brazilian, and peruvian organic hair], chunky jewelry and signature pieces by PrettyNikki Boutique, free Henna tattoos by Jamilah, and make-up hair tips by Vh1 celebrity make-up stylist Damion Gerardo.
I caught up with Daniel Lewis [picture with me on top right] of ‘Pure’ BeautyShop.com about their one hundred percent vegan and cruelty free nail polish line.
“Our line is called Pure Nail Lacquer – says Danielle. It’s one hundred percent vegan and chloral free. It has no phemaldehyde in it [ the stuff you that is used to embomb people]. The event also held a special performance by a NYC dance crew, a bollywood dancer and a personal testimony from a breast cancer survivor named Lillie. The DJ kept the crowd engaged and dancing on their feet throughout the night and the show concluded with a fabulous fashion show by designers, Lajuanda Moody [pictured with me on bottom left above], Yanel FD Galva [seen below with model Kato Matay], and another I cannot remember at this time.
I had a wonderful time at this event. It was classy, elegant and one of meaningful purpose.
As Lillie pointed out:
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women and it effects women of all races and ethnicities.
