We all know the dangers of HIV and AIDS and yet many people avoid taking pro-active measures to ensure their “positive health status” and it is that very same “taboo” or feeling “as if your body is ‘okay‘ and ‘exempt ”  that has many people affected with this deadly disease.

Singer/Songwriter, Keri Hilson feels otherwise and she is using her “celebrity” to educate people on HIV and the importance of getting tested when necessary. Keri has teamed up with the CEO and Founder Robi Reed of  Reed Hop Foundation to help spread awareness and resourceful tips of where and how often a person should get tested.

“It’s National HIV test day. Robi Reed – she looks at me like a vision of health and a voice for young girls and I’m always looking to use my voice for positive matters… You see – HIV is not really talked about but its the number one killer in African-American girls between the ages 16 -34. It’s HIV AIDS! So we want encourage people to get tested and “know their status” and take the Ora Quick test  – you can get it over the counter at any drug store and or  take it home. It’s a quick swab and you get your results in 20 minutes. “

Keri continues:

“If a guy is coming over to your house. You say- while your on your way grabs some condom’s and get that Ora Quick while you at it.”….You can even order the Ora Quick test online  and have it mailed to your home – nobody has to know.”

I strongly urge my PLUM’s to get tested.  To learn more about the Reed Foundation and Ora Quick – click the links provided in the links above.
