Lisa Raye is back on the big screen and she’s playing a “stripper” AGAIN! Ms. Raye scored HUGE popularity from her lead stripper role in the box office hit movie: “Players Club” back in 1998- but I’m not sure why Lisa Raye would opt for such a ‘role‘ for the second time, knowing that this role would only place her among the “typecast actors” of all time.
Any-who, the movie’s premise is quite different than ‘Player’s Club‘. Raye plays an aspiring actress who makes a pact with her fiancee to work as an “exotic dancer” in order to care for her ailing father who gets diagnosed with cancer. The story makes a surprising twist when things don’t go according to plan.
Former Single Ladies star, Stacey Dash also stars in the film alongside with Carmen Electra, and Lynn Whitfield. After careful review of the trailer , I’m not sure if this movie will hurt, hinder, or keep Lisa Raye’s acting career at a “steady pace” but I’ll have to wait and see rather than judge the book by its cover.
