Rapper, Eve covers the latest issue of Rolling Out magazine looking effortlessly beautiful [as always]. Inside, Eve dishes talks the meaning of her new album “Lip Lock” [which is in stores now], tips to single ladies looking for REAL love, her initial backlash of her interracial relationship with billionaire beau Maximillion Cooper.

Eve also talked little about her current relationship with her friend and former label mate, DMX and his abuse with drugs, and the “few” female rappers in the game. Take a peep at the excerpts and behind the scenes footage below.

On The Meaning Of Lip Lock:

“I’m a kind of person that likes to play on words so Lip Lock can be anything.  Lip Lock is obviously a kiss – “Smooches” . My lips is are one of my favorite parts of me. And technically its like I’m s lyricist so its like lyrically “locking” the game back down.”

On Traps Of The industry:

“I don’t belive in traps of the industry. Yeah, they’re were hard times and bad times and  they’re were bad people around. But – it’s a learning thing. You figure it out. You ask for protection and kick the people out of your camp that ain’t suppose to be there -If your lucky enough to figure out and I think most people do.”

“People can hide their title to make certain things happen that probably shouldn’t or be unfair to certain artists. And alot of that stuff definitely happens [in the music industry]”

On  Why She Ultimately Left Interscope:

“I left Interscope because they were not being supportive of me as an artist anymore,” Eve says. “They were disrespectful to my management, my music, and myself. Interscope went through a change from just hip-hop to dance music. If artists weren’t in that world, the label did not know what to do with them.”

“It took me awhile for me to get off my label at the time – because they were not trying to let me go so I had to fight for them to let me go. I then had a tv show for three years and I was also living abroad in London and I’ve been performing all over the world for the past three years and I was recording as well so this is the right situation for me right now – I’m the boss.”

On Her Outlook On Men & Inter-Racial Dating:

“My perspective on my men has changed When I was younger, I think I didn’t know my self. There was alot for me to learn before I figured out the kind of man I was suppose to be with. I definitely dated some RIDICULOUS dudes [ie: Stevie J] but you know its something you go through as you get older and now I like MEN. I’ve dated boys, and now I like men.”

“I never thought I would date outside of my race. I never thought it would seriously be something that I considered because of where we come from. Interracial dating is still not as prevalent in our community. But when I met him, it was something that was so familiar. We recognize each other in a deeper way. If somebody is treating me the way I’m supposed to be treated, who cares what race he happens to be? It took a while for us to get comfortable, but when things got serious, we went for it. When we first started having pictures taken of us, I got so many negative tweets. It shocked me. I wondered where all of that hatred was coming from. It annoys me because America is a great country. But there are a lot of hypocrites. Would you rather me date someone, like my ex [Stevie J], just because he’s black? Or would you rather me be happy?”

On Nicki Minaj And Rising Female Artists:

“I’m not everyone’s cup of tea and Nicki’s not everyone’s cup of tea,” she says. ”That’s life. You’re not going to listen to every single artist that comes out. But obviously, Nicki has a huge fan base and she’s doing her thing. So what does one person’s opinion mean? I think people just take stuff too far. Some of the new girls that are coming up are dope. Azealia Banks has a lot of cute wordplay. It’s a new generation and it’s cool with me.”

On Her Relationship With DMX & His Drug Abuse:

“DMX is my dog,” She says. “He’s the most special person I’ve ever met, honestly. It’s unfortunate that he’s going through those things. The last time I saw him was when we did the BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher. Anytime that I spend with him and get to talk with him is the best. But X is X. If you know him, you can’t tell him anything and you can’t suggest anything, X is going to do whatever he wants to do. But I’m sure he’ll get better. That’s just his process.”

On Her Legacy And What She’d Like To Accomplish Outside Of Music:

“I would like to hope that my legacy is bigger than music. There’s so much things I want to do with my life I want to HELP people for REAL and I want to make a CHANGE for REAL. I’m just not done yet.”
