Following French Montana’s sold-out concert [in Philadelphia] last night, an unmarked car approached French Montana’s tour bus and unleashed a round of SHOTS towards the crowd of people [some FANS] which resulted in one person getting SHOT in the shoulder, and the other pronounced DEAD on arrival after taking a bullet in the abdomen. According to news reports:
“Police said the shooting took place around 11:30 p.m, as a crowd was developing outside Montana’s bus when a car drove up and shots started ringing out. The chief inspector for Philadelphia’s police, Scott Small, said fans and some of Montana’s entourage “were loitering and just hanging out.” Small noted that there may have been return fire.”
As you may know, French Montana is currently making his promo runs around the states in preparation for his forthcoming LP “Excuse My French” [which is slated to drop in May] The rapper is scheduled to perform in Boston tonight but after this incident occurred, and reports surfaced early this morning indicating that members of French’s entourage “allegedly” FIRED BACK at the perpetrators of the unmarked car, there’s no official word on whether French Montana will carry out his upcoming show. An investigation has gone underway.
French, and members of his entourage have been questioned by authorities, and three men were brought in for questioning in part of the incident but no official arrests have been MADE as police are still trying to figure out what happened.
“ThatPLUM has learned from several witnesses that the SHOTS fired were like A SCENE out of MOVIE! According to one witness “BULLETS” were flying everywhere and continued for several minutes. Police arrived onto the scene only to find a crowd of PEOPLE trying to regain consciousness to an unknown 27 year-old male [whose name has yet to be released] lying in pool of blood from a gunshot wound to the ABDOMEN Unfortunately, as in the case of all shoot-outs involving URBAN Folks there was no ambulance in SIGHT and therefore POLICE assisted in transporting the body of the unknown male to the hospital, where he was pronounced DEAD a few hours later.”
We have yet to pinpoint the actual cause of this unknown ” SHOOTOUT “ . The public chatter suggests that this BEEF could of spawned from ANYWHERE. Some say French’s affiliation and close friendship with Maybach Music Group member Rick Ross [who was fired upon a few weeks ago at his birthday celebration in Florida last month ] could be a potential cause. Other chatter suggests that it could of been rivals of French and or his industry peer Meek Millz [a Philly native rapper whom French brought out on stage at the concert earlier that night].
Whatever the cause, the senseless SHOOTINGS and KILLINGS of PETTY- LESS BEEF’s must END. I’m starting to think that the Hip Hop game is becoming more and more like the CRACK Game [there is a farely larger picture here that YOUTH, AND RAPPERS are still BLIND from]. Whether its the competition of MONEY, POWER, RESPECT, or whatEVER – the only usual and most common result of it all is DEATH.
You often hear the term “ The GOOD DIE YOUNG ” and yet we as a PEOPLE have yet to come together to REVERSE this KARMA [which relatively affects the people of URBAN CULTURE every single day – I’m so sick of this shit and I HATE reporting these type of stories.
French’s last instagram picture [below] and caption [that read “Nobody Got Time For That“] following the SHOOTING had ALOT of people up in arms; many of whom felt it was ‘inappropriate’ and ‘offensive’ given the severity of the case.
French has since released the following statement [via twitter] one hour ago:
” We are way ” TOO SMART ” of a ” PEOPLE ” to still be “ATTACHED” to this type of VIOLENCE. ” but unfortunately for RAPPERS – this COMES with the TERRITORY.
Hopefully “FANS” can also learn a VALUABLE LESSON in this as well and just GO HOME after attending a concert.
