Folks will have to start calling him Mr. Jeezy now!
Rapper Young Jeezy is clearly dealing with grown man business these days and will soon have to remove the young from this rap name. The TM103 rapper, was recently crowned Senior Vice President of A&R at Atlantic Records and wasted no time confirming the news with his fans via twitter yesterday. .
“From the streets to the Boardroom. SVP of A&R at Atlantic Records I am. Let’s Get it!”- Jeezy tweeted.
Pleased with their decision, Atlantic celebrated in their excitement and retweeted Jeezy. This is turning out to be quite the year for Jeezy who released his latest album, “TM103: Hustlaz Ambition,”in December of last year on Def Jam.
Hopefully Jeezy’s new position at Atlantic is not a conflict of interest with his record deal over at Def Jam. However, if it did present a cause for concern Jeezy will be able to reccover his losses over at Atlantic records.
As Senior VP of A&R, Jeezy will be responsible to seek new artist and develop their individual craft to reach top sales for the label.
Could Jeezy be the Vincent Herbert of hiphop? I mean, he’s had the industry’s top heavyweight champ as his running mentor since his entry to the hip hop game. Post your thoughts?
