After 27 years of stand up comedy Steve Harvey has call it quits. The original kings of comedy star who consistently gave us honest and memorable humor has decided to retire from stand up and pursue new career ventures.
During his last show as the this past weekend, Steve Harvey let it al hang out on stage as he made an emotional good bye speech to his fans. The devoted Christian reminded fans that “one doesn’t need to be perfect to be a servant of God” Harvey went on to thank his audience [the people] who he says made him what he is today and noted that Hog has taken him on a journey way beyond his imagination.
“I’m just a living witness that you can be an imperfect soldier and still be in the army fighting for God Almighty. Don’t you think you got to be perfect, ’cause I ain’t. Thank y’all for 27 years. I love you. Thank you so much.”
The speech concluded with a special thank you thats Steve gave to his wife Marjorie who he calls his greatest gift and inspiration:
“I want to thank Marjorie for skyrocketing my life. I wasn’t doing good until you came along, girl. I surely thank you.”
Steve will sustain his position as a morning radio host, Family Fued host and his new gig as a talk show host which premiere’s this fall Mon-Fri at 3pm on NBC. The show will take place in Chicago and Steve couldn’t be more excited about the venue.
“It’s such a great city. The restaurants are great. The neighborhoods are great. The downtown is probably one of the best downtowns there is. If I’ve got to take my family somewhere, I’ll take them there.”
