Say hello to the new American Idol judge, Mariah Carey. Carey confirmed the news with Television Critics Association saying that she is “excited to be joining the judging panel”
After Jennifer Lopez and Stephen Tyler took their pink slips and left the highly rated show at the end of season 11, Fox News immediately began seeking a star who not only bring their star power to the show but relatibility to audiences of American idol and Mariah Carey was the perfect choice says Fox News chief, Kevin Reilly.
“Reilly called Carey “the biggest recording artist that any of these (talent) shows has ever had,” and noting that Carey is the “artist that many of these contestants have tried to emulate, have tried some of the songs, and have tried to hit the notes like Carey.”
Mariah Carey seem to be overly thrilled by her new employment saying:
“I am so excited to be joining ‘Idol…this kind of all just happened really quickly,… “I can’t wait to get started in the fall … and I will see you in January.”
I know Randy Jackson coudn’t be more pleased. He gets to sit and talk alongside with some of hollywood’s top celebrities, and to now star and co-judge with one of music’s biggest and popular singer (which Randy has worked with and written for) must be a good feeling to Randy.
