Ri-Ri just cancelled her “Rock in Rio” concert in Madrid [which was scheduled for thursday July 5th] to attend the funeral of her grandmother “Gran Gran Dolly” who suddenly passed this weekend following her long battle of cancer.
The website for the show released the following statement:
We very much regret to inform that due to the death of the grandmother of Rihanna, the artist is forced to cancel her performance at Rock In Rio Madrid. A new artist will be announced soon.
Ticketholders will be refunded their money if they’d like, even though many more acts are on the bill.
Ri-Ri is said to be going through a difficult time as she copes with the loss of her grandmother whom she was near and dear to. RiRi reportedly didn’t perform as well in a recent show. Witnesses say that the star arrived on stage appearing intoxicated and was very sluggish throughout her performance.
I means seriously? Can’t say I blame her. Rihanna is GRIEVING for crying out loud. And furthermore she was probably told to go out and perform as if nothing happened.
Anywho, Ri-Ri posted a pic of herself arriving at Barbados airport with the caption that read:
Coming Home To Squeeze Ya Mama
Surely this trip will be emotional and healing for Ri-Ri as she’s surrounded by family and close one’s in her native hometown. Stay Up Ri-Ri.
