Recap: Summer Jam 2012

Summer Jam Was In Full Effect This Year!

There are no words to say the least [and oh yes I was there to witness it all] as History was made once again last night at the 2012 Summer Jam Concert. From the pre-show to the main show today’s music hottest hip-hop artist [both old and new] took the metlife stadium in East Ruthford NJ.

The pre-festival show featured up and coming artists, my homie/bronx native Fred The Godson, and harlem rappers, ASAP Rocky[who too gave a great show], along with Azaelia Banks. However, I definitely thought Banks could’ve of wore a better outfit. Dressed-up like a cow-girl [from head to-toe]  along with two back up singers who also had some unseemingly strange cow outfits.

And then there was the main performers of the evening. Reggae Artist Movado [who uproared the crowd with his hit single “Survivor” Trey Songz, and J. Cole[who performed Can’t Get Enough” together], Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2Chainz [who performed Mercy”], Waka Flaka, French Montana [my other bronx native who arrived on a tour bus with his entire entourage, performed a few of his hit songs including the remix song of Wale “Slight Work” alongside Wale, Big Sean, and Mase. French made history bringing out former platinum rapper Mase [who exited the game back in 2006 to fufill his godly worship duties]

Other historic moments of the night include Young Jeezy [who gave a spectacualr performance and bought out the KAANG, T.I himself who took the stage and literally SHUT THE PLACE DOWN! Nas who was the guest surprise of the evening hit the stage and performed his classical hits “Made You Look”, If I Rule The World, and later bringing out the beautiful and talented Ms. Lauren Hill who too SHUT THE PLACE DOWN with Ready Or Not, Ex-Factor and If I Rule The World while rocking 6 inch stiletto’s. And lastly, MMG, Maybach Music. Meek Millz was truly A BOSS last night. Meek delighted the crowd with his top charting hit singles, I’m A Boss, Burn [feat. Big Sean] House Party, Church. Meanwhiile Rick Ross [aka Ricky Rozay] the head boss performed Blowin Money Fast, Rich Forever, Sophistcated, Everyday I’m Hustling, and brought out The Wu Tang Clan who performed C.R.E.A.M.

I can’t even get into the backstage action which included everyone a number of A-C list celebrities and media personalities. Nonetheless, this was by far a moment of history for Summer Jam once again.
