President Barack Obama made headlines back in 2009 after a video leaked the internet of the President speaking his distaste of Kanye’s behavior towards country singer Taylor Swift at the the 2009 MTV VMA’s [because he thought she didn’t deserve the Best Female Video trophy]. “He’s A Jackass” became a a running catch phrase among media outlets an was often used to characterized Kanye’s erratic and impulsive demeanor.
So many people wondered: Did the president have a change of heart about Kanye? After-all Ye is Jay-Z’s right hand BFF.
Well, in a recent press interview with ‘The Atlantic‘, the president was asked who was his favorite artist between Jay-Z and Kanye” and of course Obama went with favorite mc Jay-Z [Jigga man]. Obama stood behind his 2009 statement of Kanye but he did acknowledge Kanye’s musical talent.
Jay-Z,” he replied with a smile. “Although I like Kanye. He’s a Chicago guy. Smart. He’s very talented.
The president was then asked about his prior declaration of Kanye and whether he still consider him [Kanye] a Jackass and Obama responded the following:
He is a jackass, he added. “But he’s talented.
Spoken like a true professional. It’s all business and nothing personal. Some of us can surely take a page from Obama’s book.
