Jeezy Talks About Throat Surgery And Premieres New Single ‘Leave You Alone’ Feat. Neyo

Seems like Adele wasn’t the only one that had to go under the knife to repair her vocal chords. In a recent interview with Aladdin of WPGC, ATL rapper, Jeezy revealed that he too had undergone surgery to repair his vocal chords after [literally] losing his voice which resulted in him being unable to perform.

I tore my um vocal cords, basically. I had polyps on it and I tore it because I was doing a lot of yelling at my show and it kind of took me off my grind for like a year because I couldn’t speak for six months [pause], seven months. Then, I had surgery and it took me another three months to learn how to speak again. So, imagine laying in your bed not knowing if you’ll be able to do what you can do. And the whole world talking and wanting you, and you gotta lay low and ain’t much you can say, But it’s good now. I’m back though, better than ever by the way.

Jeezy also stated that his road to recovery wasn’t easy and at times he felt shy of speaking while hanging with his homies but he ‘thugged it out anyway and is back with a new album and more.

I had to get a vocal coach. So, I had to hum some things and sing some things…That ain’t what you wanna do in front of your homeboys while you trynna warm up and get your voice back but I kind of thugged my way through it

And indeed he did. Jeezy is back with a new album ‘Thug Motivation'[TM] 103 which is in stores now. Jeezy already unleashed a string of hit singles “Marry’ feat. Jay-Z and ‘OJ’ feat. Fabolous and Jadakiss.
