Actress, Gabrielle Union was getting ready to board a flight at an airport when suddenly the alarm rang off. Apparently Union’s weave set off the alarm and a security guard was forced to pat her entire head down. Now we all know black women are generally protective of their hair and rarely like to expose their weave add-ins or clip ons so we can just imagine how Union felt as she was put on blast and public display for all to see.
Well, Union handled this scandal like a champ. Union took to twitter and informed her fans of how it all went down.
Ma weave got “flagged” by the bodyscan at security. TSA required a hair patdown. No lie…they coulda just asked if it was the temple hair,” she told her Twitter followers. “If human hair & thread sets off the bodyscanner…a lot of folks jus ended up on the “watch list”…its a weave not terrorism.
Union’s followers later chimed in and shared their weave woes. One woman said “black TSA agents usually understand and Union replied:
Girl it WAS a black female TSA agent
Union remained a good sport of it all and even tweeted when she aboarded the flight:
Bout to take off…hopefully my weave doesn’t cause turbulence…its clearly very powerful.
Union sure does have sense of humor and its good to see that she wasn’t too bothered from it all. Be sure to check out Union in the new Tyler Perry film “Good Deed’s in movie theaters later on Feb 24th.
