Kimora Less Simmons along with others have banned together to boycott Lowe’s, following their decision to pull their advertising from TLC’s popular series “All-American Muslim”.
According to globalgrind.com, Lowe’s and several other advertisers have terminated their sponsorship of the program as ordered by their head master, Florida Family Association,a hate group whose toxic message uses religion to marginalize Americans like you and I and foster an environment of fear.
Is it just me?
Ever since our beef with Osama Bin laden, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sadam Hussein, and Iraq, it seems as though any religion that is un-American; especially Muslim religion is no longer recognized but rather viewed as radicalism, and individual extremists who oppose American ideology. Why am I not surprised. Here we go again, another fear strategy from the wealthy minority who seek to to control the working and poor majority. Kimora says it best:
“This country is about the merging of cultures and identities with the ultimate realization that fundamentally we are the same. Don’t let hate distract you and narrow your view of humanity.”
This is a true reminder of how far we’ve come but how far behind we still are. Our society is still plaqued with prejudice, racism, and gender and class bias, its almost like a never ending story. Many people (immigrants, aliens), come to this country, work their asses off, for little to no wage to feed their families in pursuit to gain citizenship and ultimately live the American Dream. But their deeds often go unheard, just like their predecessors, and they are constantly reminded that they are not American and do not possess rights of “all humanity”.
