Tasha Smith Talks New Role, Marriage And Secret Past On Wendy Williams

Tasha makes hustling look easy!!

Tasha Smith has been lighting up the film industry since her debut in ‘ATL’ but her role as ‘Angela’ in Why Did I Get Married Part 1 and 2 is what put her on the map and made her a household name in hollywood.

Tasha’s talent and success has now landed her yet another role in Perry’s new tv show “For Better Or Worse’. Tasha Smith stopped by the Wendy Williams show yesterday Nov.21st to talk about her new role marriage, and her secret past.

It’s no secret that Tasha and co-star Michael-Jai White (who also played her hubby “Marcus in Why Did I Get Married 1 and 2) were once a couple years ago. Tasha and Michael both admit that they have a genuine friendship with another and each other’s spouses which in turns allows them to have great chemistry on camera.

Tasha went on to say that she is happily in love with new hubby, Keith Douglas. The two have been married for a year now and Tasha’s says she has truly found her soulmate and is looking forward to cooking her her special dish “egg nog sweet potato pie” for thanksgiving this year.

Wendy then probed little further into Tasha former past life

in which Tasha had disclosed in a recent interview with Essence magazine.

In an interview with Essence magazine, Smith stated that she was once a heavy drug abuser. Smith said, “I used to do drugs every day. I used between the ages of 19 and 25.” She confessed to having smoked “two packs of cigarettes a day”, to having “marijuana every day” and to “using cocaine three times a week”. Tasha attributed her victory over drugs to “the grace of God”.

Wendy then asked Tasha about a rumor that she heard that Tasha was a Stripper”. Tasha replied “that is true”. Tasha went on to say” I rather tell my own business then somebody else tell it.”
I just loved the way Tasha handled her scandal!! She was upfront, unafraid, and unapologetic about it and that’s what owning it is all about!!

Everyone has a story, some are good, and some are bad but what I learned most from this and other stories alike is that we all don’t have to walk the same path to achieve success, and the road to success is not always an easy path. There will be challenges, and it’s up to you (the individual) to breakthrough those challenges and pursue your dreams.
