So, Who is THAT girl?
Kamilah is a certified life coach and entertainment journalist. Known as the ‘social butterfly’, Kaye wears many hats. Her work portfolio centers heavily around academic youth enrichment, program management, career and media marketing consultant advising.
Her educational background in criminal justice and public administration coupled with her experience in youth development is the driving force of her creativity in designing a guide model for students to enhance student academic achievement and college readiness.
In 2010, Kaye along with four of her colleagues launched their first young women’s group entitled: D.I.V.A.S – Diverse Individuals Visualizing & Achieving Success in Harlem, New York. The bi-weekly series (which is still active to date) serves to build the self-esteem and self-worth of young women of color ages 13-19 through mentoring and empowering dialogue and analysis.
Kaye is also a writer, content curator, founder, and chief editor of thatplum.com. With more than a decade experience, Kaye is much aware of the impact and culture influences MEDIA has in our society and decided to launch her personal blog site to discuss the social issues and trending topics that affects the youth of urban communities worldwide.
Her website chronicles the lives of people (whom she calls PLUMS) who are influential in the cultural habits/ patterns of plums worldwide. Since its 2011 debut, her popular site has more than 8,000 page views per month, and her articles have garnered the attention of editors at Essence magazine, New York Times, and The Huffington Post.
The success of her blog increased her visibility and her industry name, Kaye Plum. Kaye went from writing weekly articles to red carpet hosting’s, media branding, and interview correspondence with major music, fashion, film, and media outlets and other opportunities.
The wife and mother of two is always on the move. When she’s not writing and marketing brand ideas for others, you can find her at a college/school near you gearing up students for success.
Through her mentoring, motivational speaking, gifted workshops, and coaching classes, Kaye hopes to empower young boys and girls everywhere to be fearlessly brave in their pursuit of happiness.
