Nick Cannon Has Lupus Type Auto-Immune Disease

Celebrity star, Nick Cannon has finally opened up about his health condition. Nick sat down with People Magazine earlier this week where he talked about his health scare back in December while vacationing for the holiday’s with his family in the Aspens.

Nick was hospitalized for Kidney Failure last month. Mariah Carey snapped a photo of herself alongside hubby Nick lying in a hospital appearing severely weak with an inflated stomach. Juts a few weeks later Nick was hospitalized and treated a second time after doctors observed blood clots in his lungs.

Nick tells People magazine:

The blood-clot hospitalization was the “scariest” because I know people who have passed away from having that…I thought I was getting better and then that happened, so that kind of came out of nowhere.

Apparently the blood clots were a result of Nick’s kidney condition, and as result Nick was forced to step down from his radio show gig in February after doctor’s told him that he was going to have the kidney condition for the rest of his life.

It’s the result of the] autoimmune disease that [doctors] found in my system,.. It’s something I’m going to be living with all my life.

On whether the disease is hereditary Nick says:

They kind of say my autoimmune disease is…like a lupus type of thing, but no one else in my family has it.I feel blessed to be alive….If it wasn’t discovered, I don’t know what would have happened

No worries Nick fans, Nick says he is working on getting better and living the family life with Mariah and their two children, Monroe and Morrocan.
