While I enjoyed some of the performances that debut on the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, I must say I was a FREAKED OUT by Michael Jackson’s hologram performance. Last night MJ resurfaced from the dead via hologram and performed a new track entitled ” Slave to The Rhythm” off of his new album “Xscape” and it was almost unbearable to watch [for me at least].
I share the same sentiment as Wendy Williams who too expressed her dislike of the hologram performance on her talk show earlier today. In my book, the decease should remain AS SUCH. When we say one’s memory and work they’ve contributed on earth will forever live on – what it should mean is that there will be no hologram, made up statute or impersonation [of any kinds] placed on earth as their replacement.
My feelings were no different when Dre and Snoop brought out a deceased rapper, Tupac Shakur via hologram for their 2013 Coachella performance. I along with many others, respect and love Tupac’s music but he has passed on and we can do without all the fake imagery of him, MJ or any other deceased person[s] on our television screens for children to watch . It’s CREEPY, and it presents a false sense of reality.
