Singer, Kelly Rowland shocked us with her latest announcement. The X-factor judge was recently asked about her engagement to her fiancee’ music producer Tim Witherspoon and their upcoming nuptials. Kelly says she is opting for a “intimate and private” ceremony instead.
One would think that a celebrity of Kelly Rowland’s status, she would be having a wedding extravaganza involving the likes of her co-stars Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, and Destiny Child members Beyonce, Michelle Williams, and more. However Kelly is sticking to her word and keeping it private.
The singer tells People:
” I think we just really want it to be us and our pastor. That’s it. I mean, we are the only two that’s going to be in the marriage.
You have to pay for food for everyone and I’m not down with that. Everyone is there just to be nosy and see who I’m wearing you know. I’m okay! “
Kelly went on to say that Tim proposed to her via Skype:
” He asked me first on Skype and I was like, We’re so far away from each other. But it was so late, I remember we were both just kinda like, honestly just staring at each other.
And he asked me, and it was just that simple to say yes. I was like, I got my best friend to ride through life with . He really is my best friend. “
