LA officials have charged Kanye West with misdemeanor battery and attempted grand theft following his run in incident with a paparazzi male. We all remember the infamous video obtained by TMZ [back in July] showing Kanye a bit frustrated as he exited LAX airport and instantly bombarded by the ‘paps‘ and questioned from a particular photographer name Daniel Ramos [the alleged victim] which later drove West to take matters in his own hands.
Out of anger, Kanye attempted to confiscate the camera [via an arm wrestler] with Ramos, and it was all caught on tape for the public to see. Well, Ramos now claims that he was injured in the process and has taken legal action to pursue the star for civil damages [of course].
Ramos lawyer, Gloria Allred had this to say:
“We are gratified to learn that today that the L.A. City Attorney general has chosen to criminally charge Kanye West with one count of battery and one count of attempted grand theft as a result of an ‘unjustified attack’ on our client who is a photographer and who was the victim of Mr. West attack.”
Ramos claims to have suffered injuries to his right and emotional distress from the encounter. Mr. West is scheduled to appear in court on October 10th.
