The Weeknd is back with new music and a new look. The singer has cut ties with his signature free-form locs and has ‘faded in’ with a full beard and kinky fro-fade updo. Teasing us for more than 24 hours, the weeknd has finally unleashed his first single ‘Starboy’ from his upcoming album entitled ‘The Weeknd’
It’s clear to say that the ‘The Weeknd’ is embarking on a new chapter in his life
My initial reaction was, Wait! … What’s Happening Here?, but I was tricked into thinking this was a ‘kanye’ move and the weeknd was giving us an instrumental prelude of what’s to come. To my surprise it was instead, genius marketing. If your a real music head and a fan of the weeknd, you’ll need to download the new single on spotify and itunes to hear the full version.
What I can say about the single is that you’ll certainly be drawn to the electromagnetic feel of the song and your soul will be illuminated by the lyrics. The Weeknd was set to touch the stage for the NYC Festival on Oct. 1 and fans were eagerly anticipating the star’s musical return but unfortunately it has was replaced by J. Cole due to his schedule conflicts.
The Weeknd appeared oon the SNL and performed his new single and new track ‘False Alarm’. 
From the mystery behind his deleted photos, new album, slight name change, the cross symbol, and new look, The Weeknd is bringing us something ‘new’ in the coming months. Check out his new video below!
