Let’s Move On Folks!
As the public pressure began mounting, and speculation of what may or may not what triggered caused the altercation between ‘Jay & Solange’ elevator showdown on May 5th, Jay-Z and Beyonce tried to keep silent hoping this story would blow away like the wind but it was the contrary.
The leaked video went viral and caused a global conversation like ABC’s ‘Scandal’ show. The media went into a frenzy as did the public opinion. Social media had a field day as folks upload meme’ s of what they suspected happened and the rumor mill went from bad to worse.
The NY Daily News took it a step further when they issued a front page story of the trio [Jay, Bey, Solange] along with a picture of Rihanna, stating that Solange’s initial fury started with Rachel Roy [ex-wife of Damon Dash] who was hovering too close to Jay-Z.
Solange checked Rachel, then Jay-Z and Solange reportedly exchanged words, and Jay-Z told Solange ‘she was out of line’. When Jay-Z mentioned that he would attend Rihanna’s after party without Bey [of course] Solange was under the impression that Rachel would be there, and…. [you pretty much can guess the rest].
Sidebar: If Ri-Ri’s after-party dress was any indication of why Solange was furious that her brother in law’s decision to fly solo without Bey than I totally understand.
Well, the Carters/Knowles family decided to do something that they probably thought they’d never had to do – issue a statement to the public.
Yesterday [May 15th] in a newly released statement, the couple reminded the public that they are HUMANS like everyone else and they go through issues just like regular folks.
” As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. “
” They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family. “
” The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day, families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same. “
Sidebar: One thing I’ll say is that they learned a thing or too about ‘POLITICS‘ and ‘DIPLOMACY‘ from the Obama’s because this is statement clearly let us know they will not be discussing this EVER, and whenever they are asked they will refer to the statement given [above] .
The security guard who ‘allegedly’ leaked the video was terminated and the hotel stated that ‘criminal’ and ‘civil’ charges will be underway.
The five-star – ‘StandardHotel’ hotel’s reputation was clearly jeopardized and I’m sure other elite celebrities took a warning that they too can caught up in a public scandal if they behave inappropriately.
