The View co-host Sheri Shepherd is filing for divorce from her husband of three years of marriage. Shepherd’s husband Lamar Sally filed for legal separation on May 2nd.
The shocking news sparked immediate media attention and shocked both Shepherd [who was said to be blindsided] and her talk show co-hosts as well. Shepherd is seeking legal and physical custody of the couple’s unborn baby they are expecting through a surrogate this July.
According to the court documents:
” Shepherd is claiming “irreconcilable differences” and Sally is is contesting their pre-nup agreement. Sally wants more than his agreed payment of $60,000 claiming that there was fraudulent practices throughout the marriage and now claims it invalidates their initial arrangement.
Interstingly, Sally is requesting spousal support and custody of their unborn child as well. Sheri wants the pre-nup to stand ‘as is’. “
WOW! This is so sad and messy. There unborn child is not even here yet and already he or she is coming into a ‘tense’ energy of the two, media reports and public opinion. LAWD.
A source close to the source and show tells UsWeekly:
” He [Sally] stopped coming around. She [Sheri] kept everything quiet . The baby is not something she was ready to discuss at all. She had to have known things weren’t going well with Sal so she didn’t want to say anything. “
As with many marriages that were consumed from true love, I am hoping for the best outcome for the two. It’s clear that the love has been lost and they have decided to part ways, but their is a unborn child involved and that needs to be the main priority right now.
Sally was previously married to Jeff Taperly whom she share a nine-year old son with.
