RACISM Strikes Again!
Sigh….. Ok people. L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling is not fond of black people. In an audio obtained by TMZ Sterling lashes out at his girlfriend V. Stiviano after seeing a photo upload of she and former NBA champion Magic Johnson.
Despite his executive position in the NBA franchise Sterling just couldn’t hold back his feelings any longer. Sterling is heard making a slew of deflamatory remarks about black people. In the audio clip, Sterling says to V.Stiviano:
” It bothers me alot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to? “
Stiviano tries to explain to Sterling that she is Black and Mexican and therefore does not know why she has to deny a part of who she is and also disassociate herself from black people. She asks: You Want Me To Have Hate Towards Black People? Sterling says:
” No… I just want you to love them PRIVATELY” . He then goes on to say:
” You can sleep with black people, You can bring them in, You can do whatever you want. The little I ask is not to promote it on that…and not to bring them to my games. ”
” I’m just saying your LOUSY f–king Instagrams, You don’t have to have yourself with walking with black people… “
” Don’t put him [Magic] on any Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me. And don’t bring him to my games. ”
Sidebar: Did Sterling say “My Games”? -Um I’m confused. Are the players on the team not – BLACK? And so are their families and friends – So are they not welcomed too? That explains the limited passes given only to spouses plus one. Covert RACISM! Blacks are only suitable to make Sterling millions while he chats about his dislike of them at his dinner table, and telephone conversations. Not even MAGIC JOHNSON gets a pass! SMH!
There is a bigger message here, it’s time for people to WAKE-UP. Racism is not DEAD, and every WHITE person is not RACISTS but this is UNACCEPTABLE and highly DISRESPECTFUL and this should not be swept under the rug.
Jesse Jackson said it best:
” This is racially insulting and a demeaning statement. The first issue is what will the NBA do about it? He’s an NBA owner? Does he violate the NBA ethical conduct and they must respond quickly? Secondly, the players must respond because these players work for Mr. Sterling? ”
” Chris Paul, and the rest of L.A. Clippers should show some solidarity or symbolic protest in light of Sterling’s remark as this might be quite insulting to have to work for someone who openly offends your race and family. It undermines their spirit and it is mean and unfair “
Jesse Jackson also points out that this week the Supreme Court ruled six-to two in the case of ‘affirmative action’ so, its not only a tough week for the civil rights movement but a direct sign that we have come a SHORT way from ‘picking cotton balls’ to ‘picking basketballs‘.
