Call To Action!
The Social, economic and ethical challenges continue to be a persistent threat to the
progression of young girls within urban communities. These challenges insist on destroying
the fabric of our community by bringing out the worst in us. Recognizing the need to help
young women beat the odds, Young Harlem, Inc. has recently launched Dear Sisters Girls
Group!
Dear Sisters Girls Group works to build social responsibility, high ethical standards,
professional awareness and leadership among young sisters. Through innovative and age appropriate conversations, and activities, we help girls discover their unique skills, passions, and inner beauty. The program will be headed by Janiqua Codrington, Chief Strategy Officer of Young Harlem, Inc.
The team is comprised of women from all walks of life who started from the bottom and managed to overcome the challenges imposed by the community they lived. “The leading sisters consist of women who are living examples of the outcome of holding on to positive expectations” said Jonnel Green, Executive Director and Founder of Young Harlem Inc. These women are passionate about using their real life experiences to help young dear sisters of today.
Young Harlem Inc. has a proven track record for helping youth reach their maximum
potential; producing scholars, college students and entrepreneurs. The executive team of
Young Harlem Inc. believes that Dear Sisters Girls Group seeks to strengthen its capabilities and
allow the organization to positively impact girls in urban communities across the tri-state area.
