Singer, Letoya Luckett appeared on the Wendy Williams show earlier this week to dish on her new role on VH1, ‘Single Ladies‘ show, why she chose to trade in her signature long “swoop bang” hairstyle for a new color and shorter length hairstyle instead, and her new album.
:Luckett plays a fiesty, and bossy head honcho of a entertainment media firm. Her character displays an arrogant, confident attitude with a short tolerance for patience. As Luckett explains:
” I play a character by the name of Felicia Price. She is BOSS! She has her own management company and I wouldn’t want to work for her. She’s kind of “Ice Cold” and very different from my personality. I’m a little bit warmer, I’m from the South. I love hugging people on spots.”
” I think people She was so much fun to play. She has so much confidence and she just exudes it and I love that about her. I think people sometimes can misunderstand women of power and they don’t understand their climb to get there. “
Letoya explained that her stylist team had an intervention with her about her hair and what producers of the shoe thought of her new look:
” I was so comfortable with my swoop bang… I knew it was time but I just did not know what direction to go in. I didn’t know if wanted to cut it, or color it. I just didn’t know if they [style team] were going to go for both.
” They [producers] didn’t see it until I had to start doing promo for the season. They first was like “Hmm it looks good, maybe we can use for the new season on the show, so I don’t about the color maybe they’ll use it but I don’t know.”
Letoya also explains why she is still a single woman.
” I don’t really like to date, I’m to myself. I can be very “picky” but at the same time I’m very patient with waiting on GOD and whoever he has for me I’ll wait on that. I think alot of times as women we feel pressured from our friends and parents or seeing our friends getting married.”
” I just want a good man, that respects me, appreciates me, GOD fearing, understands what I do, handsome, he can be tall, and you don’t have to have M’s [millions] in the bank . “
