Kendrick Lamar got a lot of heat for his “I’m The Best Rapper Alive” verse on Big Sean’s ‘Control‘ record, and he stirred even more feathers when he dropped another freestyle on BET’s 2013 Hip Hop Award cypher where he re-stated that he is the King of hip hop.
Meek Millz responded to Lamar’s rap claims on twitter saying:
” Aye @kendricklamar ima show you who king on this side at powerhouse Friday”
The tweet stirred up beef rumors between the two and many wondered if this all was in the name of fun for entertainment sake or real. Well, Meek Millz has come forward to clear up the rumors saying that the beef with Lamar is not “negative” but in the spirit of hip hop. Here’s what the Philly native told Power 99:
“Alot of people, they be taken it the wrong way, said Meek of his tweet. Me and Kendrick, we smile and laugh about it. I was just talking about , “Ima show you who the king around this area right here [east coast] is.”
This week both Meek Millz and Kendrick Lamar will take to the Philly’s powerhouse concert stage. Other performers include Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, Wale, Big Sean, Seveyn Streeter, Ace Hood, and more.
Aye, this is going to be EPIC.
