On Wednesday , Oct. 2. After five long months of trial, a Los Angeles jury decided that AEG Live [who hired Dr. Conrad Murray,] was found not guilty/and or liable for Michael Jackson drug overdose death. As you may recall, Jackson’s mother Katherine Jackson, and three children sued AEG Live in 2010, contending the company’s negligence in hiring, retaining or supervising Dr. Conrad Murray was a factor in the singer’s June 25, 2009, death.
Michael Jackson’s family is said to be heartbroken over the verdict as they fought very hard to bring justice in the “wrongful” death of MJ. The verdict was read at 6:30pm yesterday evening.
The jury had to decide whether AEG Live hired Michael Jackson? AEG Live claims that it was Michael Jackson who hired Dr. Murray given that he [Murray] was the family physician for three years. However, the Jackson family contends that AEG Live had contracted an agreement with Murray and therefore they were the supervisors of Murray’s actions.
Several jurors explained how they answered “no” to the question on the verdict form that asked whether Conrad Murray, the doctor who gave Jackson the fatal dose of the anesthetic propofol, was “unfit” or “incompetent” to perform the work for which he was hired.”Once they came to that conclusion, there was no need to answer the remaining 14 questions. Their work was done. – reports LA Times.
Murray is set to be released from jail later this month after serving two years for involuntary manslaughter.
