The Storm Before The Calm!
Following the release of her fifth studio album ” Woman to Woman ” [which dropped Nov. 19] and scoring the number 1 spot on BET’s 106th & Park music countdown show for her new hit single “Trust & Believe” Keyshia Cole found herself at the center of media controversy after an X-Rated photo of a woman [who resembles Cole] performing “fellacio” on a dark-skin male surfaced the web earlier this week. Given Keyshia Cole’s signature blonde hairdo, many people automatically assumed it be her but the singer quickly denounced the rumor and firmly stated that it was not her in the photo.
“Evil a** haters STAY on some bullsh*t! Y’all wish! Lol!” she tweeted. “Let em have fun! They seem to enjoy being filthy, I say let emm talk!”
“People that have no self respect, you worship!,” she tweeted. “Folks that have a child, a husband, hustled from the bottom up, y’all try to tear down. Shame.”
Now a woman who goes by the name Mari Lynn [@redheadmari] who is also a die-hard fan of Cole has come forward and admitted that it was her in the “sexting photo”. Mari goes on to explain that she was young, unaware of love and approved her ex-boyfriend snapping pictures of her.
Mari says that Keyshia Cole is her music idol and therefore she felt it necessary [out of respect and admiration for her and her family] to come forward. Peep the tweets below:
We all have skeleton’s in the closet and I’m sure while many people claim to be REAL; most woman would not dare come forward [even if it were them on the tape] and say YES that was me, I was young, and NAIVE and I’ve learned my lesson. Since Mari’s confession the public bashing has already begun. Some folks say that Mari is seeking to earn her 15 minutes of fame [similar to Kim Kardashian] and feels that she leaked the tape herself]
Let this be a valuable lesson for all my ladies and PLUM divas alike. Know Your Self-Worth and never feel that you have to lower your self-esteem and or humiliate yourself to be fully accepted by your partner [male or female]. For my Plum’s under 21 who isn’t sure how to spot a LOSER [go with your intuition aka you inner feelings] The minute you feel uncomfortable- stop all transactions and break loose.
Mari has since reached out to Keyshia Cole [via twitter] an issued an apology and Keyshia simply responded:
“All these people are saying its me! “It’s really really crazy!”
