Georgia Reign has an “AXE To Grind” with her Ex and you better believe it is serious! In this smooth track produced by Grammy award winner Adonis Shropshire, she is letting her Ex know that he has crossed her for the last time and she is no longer interested in being nice about it. “F*ck My Ex” is the second single off of her forthcoming mixtape “Dope Boyz Luv Me” due out in July.

I was skeptical at first when I received the Reign’s music submission in my inbox because the title was so “BOLD” and in your face and although I was curious to hear the song – I thought it would be an instant fail – but it was quite the contrary. Ms. Georgia Reign has “beautiful vocals” that tell a different story from her photo appearances [below]  and  the track is definitely “ear worthy”.

Last week Saturday  [May 11th] I had the pleasure attended the birthday celebration for recording artist Willy Dope - one half of the duo rap group ‘Par-City’.  The group has received industry accolades, and acquired MAJOR press in the past year by the “Source” magazine, “XXL” magazine, and more. Par-City has opened up for top acts  such as “Slaughter House“, “Slick Rick“, and  “Big Sean“.

The “Dope Brunch” was hosted by Toya Times and Hot 97′s Dominican Drew at Bleu Violin in Harlem, NY. Music was provided by Da Unions’s DJ O. Minaya and Hot 97′s DJ Martian.

On His Decision To Enter The Game As A Rap Group Rather Than A Solo Artist:

“I mean really – It started as a hobby for us. Me,  ‘Gift The Great’, and at the time ‘Anti’ [third member who is no longer with the group.] We’ve been best friends for years and we just started doing music – just to do music because we had the means to do it. . We weren’t trying to be rappers, we weren’t trying to get on; or get a deal and once we linked up with  industry publicist, Chanel McFadzean and my manager and more and more people began were like “Yo Guys Are Really Good -You Guys Should Take It ” -  then we started taking it seriously. “

On “Anti’s” Departure from the Group:

“Unfortunately” – well not unfortunately but Anti had other issues that he had to deal with so he had to leave the group- but its all love.  He’s here today showing support, but he left – and me and Gift continued the Par-City thing that we was building on. “

On Par–City Musical Style & Upcoming Mixtape:

” Like any other Par-City project. You can expect “Growth”. We infuse alot of R&B elements into this next mixtape “Civilize Session Vol 2″. Not to much to where its a R&B/ Hip Hop album – but just alot more than what you would normally  expect from us [Par City] . And I think it just shows a growth in our sound overall. “  

On What And Or Whom They Attribute Their Musical Style and Influence:

“That’s a hard question to answer because I hate to sound like I’m putting it in a box.  But I don’t want to give a generic answer either. We make music that is true to us . You may classify that [our records] as – “oh that’s a club song” or “that’s a song for the ladies” but everything that we do and say on track is really true to us and true to Par-City… In a nutshell – you can expect that REALness from us. Were genuine guys!”

“I don’t want to give the typical answers like Jay-Z , Kanye. Like, of course I would want to work with them but in terms of artists coming up I’d like to work with ‘A$AP Rocky’, ‘Kendrick Lamar’, and ‘Big Sean,’ and yeah those are just a few.

While the public assumed that Kanye West would display his “humorous” side during his debut on ‘Saturday Night Live’ show – it was quite the opposite. The rapper who recently went on a verbal tirade against the ” paprazzi” after hitting his head alongside a street sign that read: WRONG WAY made no apologies for his actions and continued his serious stance during his SNL appearance this past weekend.

Prior to his revisit to SNL, Kanye made it clear to producers of the show that unlike other celeb’s [who participated on the show and often poked fun at themselves for their many "mishaps" of their career] – he wanted no part in any “funny clip scenes”. Kanye devoted his attention to his musical  performance and similar to the title songs – there was much talk of Yeezy’s latest tracks “New Slaves” & “Black SkinHeads”

During his SNL performance “YEEZY” dished on other issues surrounding black fame and celebrity that raised eyebrows and awareness of what Ye’ says is the “larger picture” of that we the “New Slaves” don’t see. In the track “New Slaves”  YEEZY raps:

What You Want/ A Bentley/ A Fur Coat/ A Diamond Chain /All You Black’s/ Want All The Same Thing ….Spending Everything On Alexander Wang/ New Slaves

West continues:

As Kanye raps images of “Not For Sale” signs and discounted prices of diamonds and other materials appear in the background along with dogs barking loudly as Kanye fades in out of his own shadow during his performance.

Kanye’s girlfriend reality star, Kim Kardashian wa sin full support of her beau and provided a sneak peek of Ye’s new album cover and “Air Yeezy” sneakers during the Ye’s SNL appearance.

Kanye’s new album “YEEZUS” [a cross name of Kanye's name and Jesus]  will debut later this year and from the sound of these new tracks -it seems to be “purchase worthy” yet again.

In the words of President Obama – Kanye is a Jackass but he is undeniably and undoubtedly “MUSICALLY”  gifted.

                          

Candice Glover was crowned  American Idol season 12 winner last night in the staples center arena in Los Angeles leaving Candice “speechless. Needless to say Mariah Carey was right on this one! Candice wowed the world and the judges with her stellar performance of “Love Song” a few weeks back; showing that she had the chops and the stage presence to be a top runner up.

As the weeks drew near Candice Glover and country singer, Kree Harrison were the chosen “runner ups” and last night America agreed that Candice had earned the “winning title” of American Idol.

As her name was announced Candice was in a state of disbelief and shock.  In a following press interview Candice said:

“I always knew for some reason that it would happen if I kept going. “

Just a couple weeks back, Candice met her favorite rap idol Drake [who surprised her] after she performed one of his songs  and last night she was joined by Jennifer Hudson [season 6 runner up] and performed  ” Inseperable” leaving the audience and the judges on their feet.

When asked of the experience Candice said:

“I look up to her [Jennifer] and, honestly, she is so successful after this show, and I really admire her,” said Glover, who worked as an excursions coordinator renting scooters and golf carts back home. “I finally got a chance to not only meet her but sing with her.” [reports ABC] 

Candice added that the best is yet to come but one thing she’s is most happy about is that she no longer has to compete for votes ; citing that it was the most stressful part of the competition.

“Part of me is so happy that it happened, and part of me is relieved that I don’t have to sing for votes and worry about making it to the next round, because that’s such a stressful process. But I know the work is only going to get bigger from here on out. “

This is the first time a female and non-white singer has won American Idol since Jordan Sparks took the title in 2007 – reports ABC. Runner up, Kree Harrison said:

“The title is freaking Amazing, and I’m so proud of Candice, but for me, I’m so thankful I could even stand next to her on the finale,” said Harrison, who now lives in Nashville, Tenn.

Kelly’s new single “Dirty Laundry“[which was written by The Dream]  caused quite a stir since it release. As Kelly made a “shocking revelation” about an abusive relationship that she’d encounter in her former years,  the talking whispers on twitter had begun and many people were curious to know whom Kelly was speaking of.

Now, Kelly  has managed to keep her personal life “private” and while she [Kelly] hasn’t “name dropped”  the abuser yet,  her ex-fiance, NFL player Roy Williams [whom Kelly was engaged to publicly] says  “it was not him”

Roy Williams issued his clearance on twitter with the following caption that alluded to a previous boyfriend of Kelly’s

In the track Dirty Laundry Kelly sings:

Kelly and “The Dream” recently spoke with Billboard to talk about the makings of the record and Kelly says it was an emotional “It was very emotional. It took me days to record,” Rowland tells Billboard.

“I had to get past being so upset and actually sing the song, not sob through it. I always hope that my music can inspire someone, the same way other artists inspire me.  Dream said, ‘I want to write you a record so that people will know exactly who you are, underneath it all. “

Singer/Producer, The Dream added:

“What unfolds on TV or on the Internet, it’s never really that. You think it is but it’s just not,” he says. “When you have a stage like Kelly has, you should talk about that part of your life. I think Kelly’s way deeper than that.”

Kelly also noted that a “Dirty Laundry” video is underway:

“It’s me, a light, and a mic. Stripped and honest,” says Kelly.

Only those involved can confirm or deny these allegations. I just hope that conversation doesn’t drive attention away from the real message here – ABUSE and its DEADLY side effects, and why its important for women to speak up and share those stories to prevent ABUSE [ of all kinds for good]

Music artists BEWARE because ” TGT “  has entered the building! Singers, Tyrese, Genuine, & Tank are gearing up to release their first group album and the trio have finally released the “visuals” to their first single “ Sex Ain’t Never Felt Better” . Now we all know these men can SANG , but its their sex appeal and they’re “banging bodies” that grabs viewers attention in the video.

In the vid, the trio is seen performing live in front of a crowd of women at a concert,  and needless to say , concert goers were left drooling over the singers as they displayed their best vocals and assets on stage.

Beyonce disobeyed “doctors  orders” and returned to center stage last night at the Sports-paleis  in Antwerp, Belgium.  Just two days ago, Beyonce fueled pregnancy rumors after she cancelled Tuesday night show [May 14th] for which she was scheduled.

According to Beyonce’s  representative, the singer was order to get some rest after a doctor’s examination revealed high levels of “dehydration” and “exhaustion“. The 31 year old singer was to ordered to cancel Wednesday’s show as well.

Well, Bey is not one to sit down for too long, and during her intro song “Flaws & All” Bey issued an apology to fans saying:

“I just have to say, I feel so good to be on this stage.  I have the best fans in the world. My doctors told me not to perform tonight.  But there’s no way in the world.  You all give me so much inspiration.  And I just want to thank you guys.”

After careful review of the video below, I must agree with a few commentators  that Beyonce does look  a bit exhausted. Hope all is and ends well.

                          

Oh Yes PLUM’s Our Shoe Of The Day Column has returned!

In a recent interview with Ebony magazine Tamar Braxton addresses the swirlling rumors surrounding  her “lighter skin tone”, her nose job, and a surprising new reveal about her “abusive relationship” [prior to her marriage to hubby Vincent Herbert]  which Tamar never discussed prior. As a mother – I can  tell you first hand that pregnancy and motherhood has a way of changing a person in more ways than one and.

We all know that Tamar Braxton is surely in a league of her own from her Braxton family. Known for her  in your face/tell like it is persona, Tamar shows her vulnerable side in her recent interview. One shocker that drew my attention was Tamar’s open admission about having “Vitilgo” which Tamar says resulted in her skin appearing lighter now than previous years.

On Her Lighter Skin Appearance:

“Anybody with skin issues knows that that’s a very sensitive subject. And that’s why I’ve never shared that I have Vitiligo, because I do. I’ve always had it, since I was a young girl. It’s not as bad as others because everybody has it differently, but I’ve certainly had mine diagnosed. That’s why I tan. People say, “You bleach your skin!” But I tan just so I can have a better tone on my skin, boo!“

“It’s gotten worse since I’ve gotten pregnant. If you shake my hand now, to me it’s more noticeable. But when you get diagnosed with a skin disorder, it’s hard. It does weigh on your self-esteem. It really does.”

Tamar even issued photo ofher childhood years for fans with the caption: “

On Whether She’s Had Plastic Surgery And Or A Nose Job:

“I don’t have plastic surgery. I never had plastic surgery. I had a nose procedure done because I had to. I had no cartilage in my nose, I have a piece of cartilage from my ear put into my nose. I had a medical procedure done. I have no plastic in my nose. And when I shared that with the world, now I have Botox, and different kind of fillers. Now I touch my face, which I never touch my face…Everything is real on me.”

On If She Considered Plastic Surgery:

“After I have my baby, I might can’t say that everything is real on me. I might get my breasts done. Who knows if my breasts gonna go down to my ankles–I can’t do that!”

And Finally, On Her “Alleged’ Abusive Relationship, Tamar says:

“I almost had to tell my story to each individual and then I decided that’s not what I’m going to do. I can’t make anybody believe, I can’t change anybody’s mind about anything. (The abuse,) it happened. I’m not all the way comfortable with sharing a lot of what happened to me (yet), but what I said was true. When I’m ready to talk about my abusive past I will, I’m sorry that I’m not. But if it wasn’t for (God), I wouldn’t be here.”

Tamar made it very clear that hubby Vincent is her “heaven sent angel” saying:

“My husband [Vincent Herbert] definitely doesn’t abuse me,”

From her unique fashion, to her natural hair styles, and her indie ‘s music Solange Knowles is truly carving her own history. Lets face it -Solange has always been revered as “Beyonce’s sister” despite the industry’s lack of acknowledgement for her singing and songwriting ability. In her recent interview and spread with Complex magazine, Solange talks about all the the things that sets her apart from public perception and why its important for people to see her for who she is [afro -hair and all].

Sidebar: I clearly need to read the credits on the artist songs, because I had no idea that Solange wrote “Upgrade You” and “Get Me Bodied” record. Let me find out Solange is the “SPARKLE” of the Knowles family.

On Taking Risks With Her Music & Image:

“I have a mother who never took no for an answer when it came to her creative pursuits,” Solange says. “She started a hair salon in her spare bedroom and four years later had 30 employees. I have a father who was the first black student at his junior high and high school and had to do a lot to get to that point. So it’s really in my bloodline when it comes to having an idea and making it happen.”

On Her Indie Inspire Music &  “Losing You” Video

“It’s an independent label, so with that creative independence comes some financial independence,” she says, laughing. “I had to get very creative with how I was gonna pull it all together. Having an intimate team makes you much more resourceful. It comes out the way you want it to, and there’s not a committee of thinkers and observers.”

On The Origin Of Her Creative Mind:

I had a very vivid imagination, mostly through my style and fashion choices. The kids had a lot to say.” Her fourth-grade teacher, Miss Bethann, found Solange on the verge of tears in her Pocahontas costume outside of the classroom and gave her a lesson that stuck with her:

“Don’t you ever, ever bend or break because of who you are.”

“From that point, the idea of convention versus non-convention or mainstream versus indie or any of those quote-unquote ‘conflicts’ has never crossed my mind.”

On Her Decision To Break From Interscope/Geffen Record Label:

“I wanted to make all of the creative artistic decisions but I wasn’t the one paying for it. And they didn’t fully trust me to make them,” she says. “Every decision was a battle. It was exhausting. I wanted to be in a position where not only was the music fully my body of work, but everything thereafter was also my body of work. I knew that meant I had to leave and that I had to struggle.” She split with the label and later that year leaked a song called “Fuck the Industry (Signed Sincerely).”

Kelly has some secrets to release from her closet and she’s revealing a few of them in her new single entitled “Dirty Laundry” In the single Kelly opens up about her past relationship [post her solo career where she says she was abused in all forms by her former partner. Kelly first addresses her very own insecurities; being in the shadows of Beyonce while in Destiny Child girl group and how her intensified following the break-up of Destiny Child. In The Record Kelly says:

Kelly Rowland should be APPLAUDED for her honesty in this record. Clearly, Kelly is in a better place in her life and now that she’s confronted her “inner demons” she can prosper more “freely” both inside and and out. It takes a brave soul to do such a thing especially in the industry [where one wrong word or action] can get you “easily” removed from the inner circle.

The Wait Is Finally Over! 

After  an 11-year hiatus from the music industry, Eve debuts her fourth solo album “Lip Lock“  Following the release of her latest singles “She Bad Bad” , and “EVE” ft. Miss Kitty, Eve give a refreshing new sound to the viewers EVE.

On the  12 track list album EVE, spices up her collaborative efforts by nabbing the industry alum’s  producers such as Neptunes, Missy Elliot, and her longtime friend and Ruff Ryder label affiliate Swizz Beatz.

As for other collaborative artist tracks, EVE teams up with  ,Dawn Richard, “Keep From You”  Chrisette Michelle, “Never Gone” and Gabe Saporta  “Make It Out This Town” and  Snoop Dog  Lion who features on the “Mama In The Kitchen”
