Tashera Simmons, the ex-wife of rapper DMX stopped by Cherry Martinez show on Power 105.1 radio station to talk about her new reality show “Couples’ Therapy” which she and her on and off again hubby rapper DMX stars in. The VH1 show attempts to restore five celebrity couples [who are and or about to be on the brink of divorce/or breakup] since their induction to the rich & famous lifestyle.
In the interview Tashera talks about her 14 years + marriage to DMX and the the up and downhill battles that came along with it once fame got into the equation. She also talks about the drugs, X’s infidelity [including his public paternity battle with another woman which X says he was raped by]. and surprisingly, Tashera notes that although DMX struggled with drug addiction she never used drugs herself.
I could sit here and swear on my life and everybody that knows me. I don’t even smoke cigarettes!… I have never in my life done drugs, ever. I think people use to say that because they were like ‘she got to be doing drugs with him to be with somebody on drugs.’ What people don’t know is he came to me during the first year of our relationship and said he had a drug problem. It wasn’t as bad though and we talk about this on the show and that’s why I feel so comfortable talking about a lot of things openly now. Because I felt like that was his personal business and I didn’t feel like it was right for me to speak on it. Loyalty is everything to me, with my friends, family and him. Loyalty is everything to me.

Here’s what Tashera said regarding X’s infidelities and fathering another child:
We’ve been separated for six years, very separated. When I first found out about his infidelities, which was very public, was the woman from Baltimore. She came to his court date. She acted like she was just a fan trying to get something going. Come to find out she was trying to see if he recognized her because she had a one night stand with him and she had a baby by him. So when he didn’t notice her, and he gave her my number to get in touch with him, she went to the press. He told me, ‘I don’t know how you’re going to take this but…. and he told me this girl says she has a baby by him. I was just devastated and couldn’t believe it. I was in shock but I said: Is it true? He said: “Tashera there’s no way, no way possible.’ I said, “I would really like to hear from you is this possible.” He told me “no”.
