Just to think that Dr. Martin Luther King finally received his monument last year after servicing nearly 20 years of his life for civil rights and equality and dying for the cause, and Beyonce gets a statute for exactly what again!
The hypocrisy continues!
Beyonce is getting her own statute in her native hometown in Houston, Texas. Armdeonce Ventures, a private company behind the idea, plans to create a statue for 30-year-old Beyonce Knowles in the Bayou City, which will showcase her many achievements. The mayor of Houston has approved the making of this statute.
“Our biggest thing is a lot of people get honored when they die, so our goal is to why not honor people why they’re still here? We felt as though it’s her time to be honored,” Marcus Mitchell, who is partially behind the idea told MY Fox Houston.
“We wanted to construct, like, a massive hall so as the doors open. There will be clips of Beyonce with Destiny’s Child and wardrobe like a mini museum,” Mitchell added.
Beyonce, one of the most renowned names in the music industry, is originally from Houston and appears to be so popular in her hometown that the mayor has reportedly backed the idea of an honorary monument for the new mother to be.
“We’ve gotten support from the city of Houston, from the mayor. We’re waiting for a very nice letter from the mayor right now,” Mitchell said.
The company is also conducting fundraising for Grammy Award-winning artist’s proposed statue, even offering incentives for those who donate.
“If you donated to the monument, you’ll have a separate nameplate,” Mitchell explained.
