Pop star Katie Perry and Rockstar, Russell Brand has ‘called it quits’ after 14 months of marriage.
Well, we know Wendy Williams must be jumping for joy on this one, but she’s sure not the only one. Many people were startled that Katy, 27 jumped the broom with 36-year old Russell Brand. What seem like a fairytale for Katy was quite the contrary says close sources of the star.
Rumors have now surfaced stating that Russell was growing tired of Katy’s partying ways and suggested that she tone down her image a bit. Other rumors suggest that Katy asked Russell to file for divorce because she “didn’t want to be the one to end the marriage’. Hmm?
The two are alleged to have a had huge fight just a few days before the Christmas Holiday and that was the final straw. Katy spent Christmas in Hawaii and Russell went back to his native home in UK.

Brand made a public statement recently:
‘Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.’
His legal team filed court documents at the Superior Court in Los Angeles yesterday citing ‘irreconcilable differences.’
The divorce documents, which refer to Perry by her give name Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, show there are ‘community property assets,’ suggesting there may not be a pre-nuptial agreement in place.
TMZ alleges that, contrary to earlier reports, the couple agreed to split a few weeks ago, but waited to file papers until they were both out of the country.
