The NFL’s unending international protest against one their best former quarterbacks is still going strong , but the people are standing with Colin Kaepernick (7).
The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback put everything on the line (livelihood, career, family) when he decided to kneel for the national anthem in protest of the treatment and killings of blacks by law enforcement in America.
His refusal to stop kneeling for the anthem doesn’t favor well with the football league and thus, no other team is willing to sign him. His courageous and tenacious spirit in speaking out against racial injustice since opting out of his contract in 2016, has garnered him international praise from the people who stand with Kaepernick.
” How Can You Stand For The National Anthem That Preaches And Propagates, Freedom And Justice For All, Yet It Is So Unjust To So Many People Living Here. – Kaepernick”
Amnesty International honored Kaepernick with the Ambassador of Conscience Award this past Saturday (April 21). Each year, a person or organization fighting injustice and or using their talents to inspire others are chosen recipients.
During his speech Kaepernick said “Racialized oppression and dehumanization is woven into the very fabric of our nation – the effects of which can be seen in the lawful lynching of black and brown lives in the prison industrial complex”.
“Seeking the truth, finding the truth, telling the truth and living the truth has been, and always will be what guides my actions.” @amnesty @yourrightscamp @RAVisionMedia pic.twitter.com/iYMDZ5dGAT

In closing Kaepernick had this to say;
” In Truth, This Is An Award That I Share With All Of The Countless People Throughout The World Combating Human Rights Violations Of Police Officers, And Their Uses Of Oppressive And Excessive Force ”
Colin Kaepernick is currently suing the the NFL for collusion, but his activism works continue. Kapernick is set to appear on VH1’s second annual ” Dear Mama: A Love Letter To Moms” special airing on May 17. Kaepernick will be honoring his mother – Teresa Kaepernick.
